Leigh Sports Village Confirmed for Political Animals vs World XIII
Politicians’ Rugby League side, the Political Animals, have announced Leigh Sports Village as host of their match against a World XIII on the morning of the Rugby League World Cup Final, 30 November.
The new complex provides state-of-the art facilities and has a range of pitches as well as an 11,000 stadium which in which the Cook Islands and Tonga RLWC2013 group game will be played. But the link to RLWC2013 doesn’t end there – the facility will be hosting the Tongan national side.
Club Captain, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland thanked Leigh Sports Village “this is tremendous news for all those who will be taking part. Leigh Sports Village is a genuinely world-class venue for rugby league and other sports and is rightly playing a significant role in RLWC2013. We are grateful to Wigan Council and those at Leigh Sports Village for their support and we are all looking forward to the game.”
