Political Animals Announce Coalition
The Political Animals today announced their latest coalition – with the British Amateur Rugby League Association (BARLA).
The Animals were unanimously elected to become an associate member of BARLA at the AGM held in early June, the first step on becoming full members.
On hearing the news, Political Animals Club Captain Greg Mulholland MP said “this is great news for the Animals. Being a part of BARLA brings us in line with a long rugby league heritage, and I am delighted that a team of politicians can play its part. I look forward to us working more closely with BARLA and being much more involved over coming years.”
BARLA Chairman, Spen Allison said “BARLA represents some of the best amateur clubs in the UK and Ireland and it’s great that we have a team of politicians that are prepared to support our sport in the corridors of power as well as on the field and throughout the amateur game.”
In recognition of their new alliance, the Animals will play a BARLA Chairman’s select XIII around the Challenge Cup Final weekend.
