The hard-fought contest saw the Animals go own four tries to three, though was declared a draw in line with Masters rules. Man of the Match was World XIII player David Lemalie from the New Zealand High Commission.
Club captain Greg Mulholland said “what a great way to start World Cup Final day. This game represented a fantastic opportunity for us to meet those involved in government to grow friendship through our mutual love of rugby league. I would like to thank all those who took part, particularly those travelling from London. I would also like to thank our sponsors, William Hill, PRCA and MR Sport for enabling this historic game to happen.”
